Separate self from what’s happening. Being objective means you cannot say, “I have nothing to do with this. You need to say “I fully understand your point of view.” I am listening and writing down your complaint, it will be investigated. People are not rude or difficult unless you attach it to yourself.
If you develop a problem with anyone, write down the problem as you see and get advice from someone outside the office. See the person you have a problem with in a day or two. NEVER discuss it with his/her colleagues.
Phone messages are usually important. 95% of the time that you can find the information or answers needed. Always find out what time slot your boss puts aside for calls. Also, suggest to the caller “If you give me more information, I may be able to find the answer you want.”

Your work brings you in contact with information that is private and confidential. Keep this information confidential. Respect that your boss also has a private life and does not expect you to advertise details to friends or colleagues. Check mail before opening, so private mail is NEVER opened.
Nothing is too much trouble for you. A spirit of co-operation and giving will soon have any boss appreciating your value to the organization. Attend all the little details with as much attention as the big and important issues.
